Section 1026.36(f)(3)(iii) of Regulation Z requires credit unions to provide their loan originators with periodic training covering Federal and State law requirements that apply to the individual originator’s loan origination activities. What training will satisfy this requirement?
The rule is not specific about how much or what type of training is enough; however, the commentary to the rule provides a safe harbor. The commentary indicates that training approved by the NMLS to meet the continuing education requirements under the SAFE Act may also be used to satisfy the training requirements of Regulation Z.
