Regulators have spent a lot of time discussing indirect lending and fair lending issues this year. A great high-level overview of indirect lending issues from the regulators’ perspective is the Federal Reserve’s webinar that took place on August 6. The archived webinar is now available and the corresponding resources can be found here. Participants from the Federal Reserve Board, the CFPB and Department of Justice discussed fair lending issues specifically related to indirect auto lending programs.
Another resource to consult if you are starting an indirect lending program or if you already have one up and running is the CFPB’s Bulletin from March of this year.
If you missed these resources the first time around there is still time to go back utilize them!
