While I am sure credit unions have not forgotten about the NCUA, especially if they have an exam scheduled, it is important to stay proactive about their new regulations. We spend so much time trying to keep up with the CFPB and reading their proposed rules it is hard to carve out time for other issues. Luckily, there is a plethora of webinars to help!
The NCUA recently announced that it will be hosting a free webinar on loan workouts and nonaccrual policy and the regulatory reporting of troubled debt restructured loans on September 20, 2012. Click here for more information on how to register for the webinar.
NCUA experts will discuss the supervisory guidance recently issued to examination staff about implementing the final rule. The NCUA’s loan workouts and nonaccrual policy, and regulatory reporting of troubled debt restructured loans has a compliance date of October 1, 2012, for a written loan workout policy and implementation of nonaccrual practices.
Speaking of webinars, the NCUA has also released the archived recording of its free webinar on the changes in the Central Liquidity Facility (CLF), the proposed rule on emergency liquidity, and the Low-Income Credit Union (LICU) eligibility initiative, which can be found here. And don’t forget to refer to Andrea’s blog about upcoming webinars on the CFPB. While we can’t forget about other compliance issues, there is no ignoring the CFPB!
