Web Browsers and Compliance?

Category: Industry Issues
By Jami Weems    No Comments

If you are like me you have a significant number of favorites set up in your web browser to assist you with your ongoing compliance responsibilities.   Take for instance Regulation Z (Truth in Lending).  I have Title 12 Chapter II Part 226 from the electronic Code of Federal Regulations bookmarked (no, unfortunately I don’t have it memorized).  Web browsers beware!  My favorite link still works; however, this citation is no longer accurate now that Regulation Z is in the hands of the CFPB.  The CFPB’s rules can be found in Title 12, Chapter X with Regulation Z now in Part 1026.  With so many regulations transferred to the CFPB it is important that you update your favorites to ensure that your research is based on the correct version of the rule.   So if you haven’t already done so, I strongly encourage you to set up a favorite to the CFPB rules.  It may save you some time and probable frustration!
